Introduction:

Department of Urology Teaching hospital/ D.G. Khan Medical college Dera Ghazi Khan was established in 1994. Dr. Muhammad Saleem Iqbal was appointed as consultant urologist. Initially as a part of general surgery ward, it was comprising 12 beds. In the same year, hemodialysis center with four dialysis machines was attached with urology ward. In April 2007 Dr Muhammad Khalid Malik was appointed as Consultant Urologist after transfer of Dr. Muhammad Saleem Iqbal. From October 2012-June 2015 Dr. Qadeer Ahmad served as an assistant professor. Dr. Muhammad Khalid Malik Currently working as a professor and head of department of urology. At present department of urology consists of ward with 24 beds (12 for male patients and 12 for female patients), urology OPD four days a week and operation theater two days a week with all basic facilities like ultrasonography, dedicated lithotripsy center, open surgical and endoscopic operations including Laser surgeries.

MISSION:

To provide excellence in urologic care by incorporating the most advanced medicine and surgical technologies and to promote knowledge and skill dedicatedly to the juniors.  

OBJECTIVES: -

  • To serve the urological patients with competency.

  • To share and learn the advance and innovative urological procedures.

  • To promote knowledge, communication and surgical skills among colleagues.

  • To conduct and promote research work in urology.

Future scope: -

  • To establish renal transplant, uro-oncology and bladder substitute services in the department.
